Delta Enigma

Interview with Vinyl Lollipops (USA).Delta Enigma
August 2020

Interviewed by:
Laura Williams
Vinyl Lollipops

Delta Enigma is:
Vin Valentino - Vox
Julian Rose - Guitar
Sammy Black - Guitar
Tommy Demon - Bass
Eddie X - Drums

Laura:
What genre of music do you consider Delta Enigma to be?

Vin:
Alternative rock/metal. We take influences from all kinds of music and we don't want to set too strict limits to our music. As a songwriter I consider myself to be extremely curious as I always compose the true feelings at a certain point of life. The mood changes constantly and it can be heard in the songs too, although the main idea of our style remains there. You can clearly tell that it's Delta Enigma.

Laura:
What's the ultimate direction for your band?

Vin:
We want to inspire people and grow a huge Delta Enigma family with the listeners. We want to meet all the fans and let them know that without their support this whole journey would be pointless. I guess our main goal is to be able to live our lives to the fullest, together.

Laura:
How would you describe your music making process?

Vin:
I usually compose music at night or in the morning after waking up. I hear rhythms and melodies in my mind all the time. I'd say it's a blessing and a curse. When I create melodies I always think about the rhythm of the notes. Rhythm is the most important component of music. Why? It's in our blood. Give the audience a constant kick drum beat and they'll be happy to shake their butts. Many people don't even think about this. For example, you could choose a 10 note melody pattern. What makes the groove isn't the notes. It's actually the pause between the notes that makes the rhythm. Magic.

I tend to be really emotinal when I compose. I must feel the music that I write. Forget about theory and follow the emotions that the music gives to you.
There are people who can feel it too.

Laura:
Why call the band, “Delta Enigma?”

Vin:
Delta is a triangle shaped letter and triangle is one of the symbols of love. The three corners of this triangle represent "closeness,” "passion" and "commitment.” Without the three, love is not complete. So how is it connected to our logo? You see that our logo is an optical illusion. It's an eternal loop. It doesn't start or end anywhere. If you follow one side you're stuck in the loop. Also even though it's called a "triangle" there's many more corners in it. The logo is a way of symbolizing love and how complicated it is, hence the optical illusion. We are said to be the interpreters of complicated love. That is the meaning of Delta. So our name Delta Enigma could be understood "Love Enigma.”

Laura:
What should fans expect to experience at a show?

Vin:
A very dynamic show with the most badass drummer there is.

Laura:
Typical question here. Who has influenced you the most via music?

Vin:
Difficult to say. I take influences from so many bands, but my interest in rock and heavier music started when I was a kid and I heard Alice Cooper's "Poison" on the radio. Then I rushed to the library and borrowed stuff from Alice Cooper, Dio, Iron Maiden, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen, Uriah Heep, Metallica, etc... I'm a big fan of all the legendary bands.

Laura:
How can fans and future fans locate, listen to and buy your music?

Vin:
Our music is available on all streaming services.

Laura:
Is there anything else you would like your fans to know?

Vin:
We would like to thank all the fans for their activity. You guys have been amazing. Sharing is caring. Keep on spreading the music and stay healthy!

Laura:
What's coming up next for Delta Enigma?

Vin:
Two new music videos. "Unreality" and "Venom.” The debut album "Two Shadows" is scheduled to be released by the end of 2020. A live stream event will be arranged in August featuring a special guest from the band "Melba Culp" (USA).
